Post-Construction & Renovation Cleaning in Toronto
Post-construction and post-renovation cleaning across Toronto and the GTA. Because every site is different — a bathroom refit and a gutted main floor are not the same job — this service is quoted after a short walkthrough or a few photos, not off a fixed price list. We will give you a firm number before we start, and it will not move.
Renovation dust is not normal dust. Drywall sanding produces particles fine enough to hang in the air for days and settle into every horizontal surface, every track, every vent and every fabric in the home. A regular clean pushes it around. Getting it out takes a different method and a lot more passes.
Why Post-Construction Is a Separate Service
Three things make it different from a deep clean:
- The dust comes back. Fine particulate settles out of the air for 48–72 hours after work stops. A single clean done too early looks perfect and then greys over. Proper post-construction work is staged.
- The debris damages equipment. Drywall dust and grout sand destroy domestic vacuums. It needs HEPA filtration and equipment built for it.
- The surfaces are fragile. New paint, uncured grout, fresh hardwood finish and unsealed stone all scratch or mark under normal cleaning pressure. Knowing what not to scrub matters as much as knowing what to.
What We Cover
- Dust removal top to bottom — ceilings, light fixtures, fan blades, door frames, trim, baseboards, then floors last
- Window interiors — glass, frames, and the tracks where construction debris collects
- Vents and returns — covers removed, wiped, and the visible duct opening cleared so your HVAC stops redistributing dust
- Paint, adhesive and sticker removal — overspray specks, label residue on new appliances, tape marks on glass
- Inside all cabinetry — new cabinets are full of sawdust and packaging debris
- Fixtures and hardware — polished, handles and switch plates degreased of installer fingerprints
- Floors — vacuumed with HEPA, then washed with the right product for the specific finish
How It Gets Priced
We will not put a fake number on this page. Post-construction pricing depends on things we have to see: total area affected, how much of the dust is drywall versus wood versus masonry, whether the trades cleaned up after themselves, ceiling height, how many windows, and whether the home is empty or you are living in it.
Send us photos or book a ten-minute walkthrough and you get a fixed quote. Once we give the number, the number holds — if the job takes longer than we estimated, that is our problem.
Single Clean or Two-Stage?
| Situation | What We Recommend |
|---|---|
| Single room refit (bathroom, one bedroom) | One clean, 24–48h after trades finish |
| Kitchen or multi-room renovation | Two-stage: rough clean, then final clean 48h later |
| Full gut or new build handover | Two-stage, plus a pre-move-in check |
| You are living in the home during works | Two-stage strongly recommended |
Two-stage costs more than one visit but less than paying twice because the first clean did not hold.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does post-construction cleaning cost in Toronto?
It is quoted per job rather than from a price list, because cost depends on the area affected, the type of dust, ceiling height, window count and whether the home is occupied. Send photos or book a short walkthrough and you get a fixed quote that does not change afterwards.
How long after the renovation should I book the clean?
Wait at least 24 to 48 hours after the trades finish. Fine drywall dust keeps settling out of the air for two to three days, so a clean done immediately will look perfect and then grey over.
Do I need one clean or two?
A single room refit usually needs one clean. A kitchen, multi-room renovation, full gut or new build handover is better served by a two-stage clean: a rough clean, then a final clean around 48 hours later once the remaining dust has settled.
Can you clean while we are still living in the house?
Yes, and in that case we strongly recommend the two-stage approach, because dust keeps redistributing while the home is in use. We also prioritise bedrooms and the kitchen first so the family has clean space to retreat to.
Do you remove paint specks and sticker residue?
Yes. Paint overspray, adhesive residue from appliance labels and tape marks on glass are all part of the service. We use methods matched to the surface so new finishes are not scratched.
Do you clean the air vents?
We remove and wipe vent covers and clear the visible duct opening, which stops your HVAC from blowing settled construction dust back through the house. Full in-duct cleaning is a separate specialist trade and we will tell you honestly if you need one.
